The One with a Fake British Accent

Most public toilets in the Netherlands require an average of 50 cents. And since my bladder won the battle with my Asian side, I paid the 50 cents. But trust me when I say, I made my money’s worth with the toilet paper. =D

After spending 6 hours on the roads, from Amsterdam, I arrived back at Frankfurt for 2 days before my flight to London, England.

I ate some German food during that time. German food is basically meat; which was awesome.

Pork is a variety of ways - sausage, ribs, and chops, with some awesome mash potatoes. Man, you haven’t eaten mash potatoes until you’ve eaten in German style. It’s so yummy!

Fried pig leg- it’s actually very yummy!

Liver meatball soup- well that’s what I’m calling it. Yeah, no.

Potato, egg and the special green sauce is a famous Frankfurt sauce. It’s actually very packed with flavour, even if it doesn’t look very appetizing.

I have no idea what this is called, but its cheese with onion and some kind of herb and you eat it with bread. I didn’t like it very much. But I also don’t like cheese. =/

There are two different types of apple juice, the light and the dark. We usually drink the light apple juice, but the dark apple juice is popular in Germany. So I had a go and it was okay- it was kind of strange cause it was like apple juice but not really. =/

It snowed so much during the 2 days in Frankfurt and it reached -18 degrees! Sub zero temperature hurts, but I swear its worth it when you see the whole city covered in white. Everything just looks so pretty.

But when I got to the airport, I found of because of the snow, many flights had been cancelled, some people were stranded for 5 days waiting for a plane. So there was a whole mob at security check, and for some reason, all the security check points but one had closed down. My flight was scheduled to leave at 11:15, but I was still at the back of the line at 11:20. To make matters worse, when I finally got through to security check I was pulled into the white rooms you see on border security for a drug testing. I was so scared the plane was going to leave without me, so when I finally got on and found out I was one of the firsts to, I was very surprised.

On the 2 hour flight to London, I started talking to the guy sitting next to me, since there wasn’t anything else to do. He’s name is Abi, and he’s American. He told me how the snow cancelled his flight to India and he was doing a layover in London. I was like =O “I can’t believe you’re not going to see London! I mean its London!”

Abi also told me that I sounded English, but then again I didn’t greet him with G’day mate. Or maybe I was unconsciously faking a British accent because all the flight attendants had a British accent and I got caught up in it. I could barely hold the giggle in, every time the pilot was on the speaker.

I love London! I absolutely love the accent. Instead of plugging my ears with my earphones on the tube (which was hell to get on- there were no elevators and I had 2 massive suitcase, 3 carry ons, and my laptop; I don’t need to work out for a while.) I drowned myself with the British accent. And people here speak English! English! I understand English. I’m leaving London tomorrow with a tour group for Belgium but I’ll be back in 2 weeks for another 2 days in London & I’ll be doing my own tour! =D

So jealous much, Cynthia?
