The One Who Peed Part 1

Yesterday I met my tour group and my new tour guide. For the first time, I wasn’t the only Australian nor was I the only one below the age of 30. People, there are young adults! (I had to think for a while what label I was in- still not use to the fact that I’m no longer categorised as a teenager; am I getting ahead of myself by calling myself a “young adult”?) We hopped onto our tour bus and headed straight for the Port of Dover, for a ferry to France. It took us about 2 hours to get across the English Channel, but the Sea France ferry had so much to do the time flew by, and I almost flew off the boat, literally.

The ferry had 5 levels, but the first 3 were for the cars and buses. The rest was filled with bars, restaurants, shops, arcades and even a gambling section. But I wanted to go outside to the top of the ferry and take some photos. This photo almost threw me off board.

I’m not even kidding, walking against the wind was a tiring workout but walking with it almost carried me away.

This guy is literally grabbing onto his life.

Once we reached France, I didn’t stay for long. It was straight to Brussels, Belgium and on the way there we stopped at the Atomium which is a space age leftover built for the 1958 World Fair.

After 15 minutes and 37 snap shots, it was back on the bus, for the Grand Place in Brussels. The Grand place is absolutely breathtaking. I think no words can describe it, so I’m just going to show you.

We went to visit the child hero, Mannenken Pis, the little boy who peed to save the day. He’s like a superstar, they even have a little shrine for him.

Oh, and Belgium waffles are just to die for.

My dad saw this and he wanted to try some.

D=<. No comment.

But because of that we were 5 minutes late for dinner, and by the time we got there the food was almost gone. I was like WTF?! These Asians were like so freaking greedy that the freaking swallowed the food without chewing- biting takes time, less food for them. My dad and I were speechless- so all I got for dinner was a bowl of rice and 2 pieces of chicken. =T

That wasn’t what upset me the most, what upset me the most was that after dinner we left the Grand Place. I wanted to stay longer. I didn’t even have the chance to buy my snowglobe or even chocolates! I really hope I have an opportunity later on. I’m staying at the Novotel Airport Hotel for 2 nights (which is near the airport- so in the middle of nowhere), but at least the rooms are pretty.

The bad thing is that they’ll charge you 10 euros for a day’s use of the internet but at least they offer 2 computers with net in the lobby. However they are both MACs & MACs confuse me. But they sure are pretty.

So jealous much, Cynthia?
