Exclusive VIP Pass

Well things didn't go according to plan last night. Instead of going to dinner with my cousins at Parramatta like originally planned, my dad decided to take us all out to the Centrepoint Tower for dinner. I felt bad for my cousin Will cause his been trying to get all us cousins together for a while (since July). But an Aunt flew in from America, and my dad wanted to take us out. So we went to the 360 Restaurant in the Centrepoint Tower. It was expensive, and the food wasn't great. But was the view... oh how the view was worth every penny (840$ of it). It was honestly breathtaking. Here are some photos:

Well after dinner, everyone wanted to go back to Star City, as that was where my Aunt was staying. However the lifts were broken. We were stuck. We were stuck on the highest point in Sydney. ><; Apparently it was the very first time the lifts didn't work. Great. So we had the VIP access to the fire escape stairs. 1420 steps. 89 floors. My legs are still trembling. After those stairs we were taken through the Westfields that is currently under construction by security. So we had the VIP pass through the not even yet built Westfields. I even bet you, we were the first to use its toilets too. LOL.

When we finally got back to Star City, we headed up to the hotel room to talk and rest our feet. My Aunt was complaining how she wants to sue the place for compensation payments- for damages to her legs; jacket and her would of been fortune at the Casino if she wasn't too tired. LOL!

Had one of the best sleep of my life afterwards though. Didn't wake up til 1 in the afternoon.

Daggy Daddy Fashion!

I wrote this post for a while now; just found my camera cable to upload the photo =). Here's the delayed post:
I am currently staring at a jacket my dad bought for me. Since its going to be freezing when I'm over in Europe, all my aunts and uncles have been warning me, and advising me to buy a parka jacket (jackets people wear to the snow). So this is what my dad got me:

I quite literally laughed my arse off! It was something that I would of taken off the racks to point and laugh at together with my friends, wondering who on earth would buy it. Well, apparently my Daddy. =D My dad is the epitome of daggy daddy fashion- well the Asian version. Like most males, he prefers comfort and utility over style. So he'd be strutting around with sandles, a pair of old jeans and shirt and be perfectlty happy. Except, he'd be at my year 10 School Certificate Assembly, where other Dads are dressed in a more sophisticated manner. It wasn't a formal ceremony or anything, but at least they were wearing closed in shoes.  But I guess, if he did, he wouldn't be my dad. LOL & I love my daddy. Because of him, I'm not scared of anyone. Cause one of the scariest guy out there is my dad! =DD!

So jealous much, Cynthia?

(I know you want this sexy jacket)
P.S. I love how winter fashion is on sale right now, since it's going to be summer soon, so I'm getting all my Europe trip clothes on massive discounts! =D

Threw Godzilla into the Pits of Hell!

I have just submitted my assignment. I stood infront of the assignment box outside the Acutaries Studies office for a while, in disabelief. I've actually finished it. FINALLY! SO HAPPYbut next week I have MATLAB, Accounting Quiz and Macro-economics Presentation. It never ends! T^T

Today has been very eventful besides this assignment. Someone proposed today at Uni. Apparently the couple was on the stairs and the guy got people to spell marry me on the lawn! how sweeeeet! I was complaining to Nhi about how I missed out on the proposal (LOL almost wrote proposement) & he was like "do you want me to propose?" HAHAHAHA! He is such a funny guy. We then started to talk about proposals. I would hate to be proposed to infront of people cause I'd feel pressured to say yes. So sweet and personal would be for me. =) Nhi on the other mentioned an extravagent affair consisting of writing Marry Me in the sky. LOL! I made a note that he should also write P.S. Jessica is awesome to seal the deal. =D

I'm still at Uni right now, Nhi is trying to get his assignment done, so I'm writing this post up to stop me from distracting him. Plus he bought me an icecream so I'm happy. =)

Dinner tonight with my cousins! Can't wait! Except there's been a rumour circulating thought my family that I'm currently dating someone. So as an long ongoing joke my cousins have made reservations at a restaurant in Parramatta for Jessica + 1. I was like "yeah I'd probably eat for plus 1".

Well that is it for now. I'm going to head off home to get some sleep in before dinner.

So jealous much, Cynthia?

Has slayed GODZILLA!

It's 4am & I'm almost finished my actuarial studies assignment. Even though it's only worth 8%, it has taken me over 2 weeks to do. I am so tired but FUCK YEAH! GODZILLA IS ALMOST DEAD!LOL! yes I named my assignment Godzilla. It was one ugly beast. RAWR!

All that's left is  the conclusion and recommendations and the appendix. So I'm practically done. The assignment is due tomorrow at 4pm, so I'll probably go Uni early, get it done so I can enjoy the rest of the day with my cousins! They are shouting me dinner at Parramatta! SO excited! =)

One good thing thats has come out of this assignment is that I just read the new OP558 hot from the scanlators! LOL! It was so awesome that I'm so tempted to call up Hayapi right now to discuss about it! <33 OP. Which reminds me of a video I found on Youtube that made me laugh my arse off. But if you're not a OP fan, you might not find it funny. but it is. it so is. Check it out:

LOL! =DDDDD  So if I had to explain it, 4KIDS is basically the ENEMY of all anime. They strip and cut up anime to little bits and pieces, hurting all the fans. When 4KIDS owned the copyright to dubb OP, there was a riot! LOL yes I was part of it. I LOVED the saveonepiece campaign. But now it's all good
=) and I can't wait til the movie comes out on the 12.12.09!

The Road Not Taken

Here's an update on my ACTL1001 (Actuarial Studies) Exam:
Dear ACTL1001 Students. Just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the efforts for the quiz and apologies for the delayed start. In short, I had originally requested that 215 papers be printed (for 199 students - the extra 16 was to provide against possible printing errors) but for some unknown reason I was only given 175 or so instead. Hence the delay as the additional papers needed to be printed (at a period when many staff had gone home...). Your patience during that period was highly appreciated. At the same time however I would like to inform everyone that I have received some very disturbing reports about possible student academic misconduct. I am very sad and angry to learn about this as that is clearly unacceptable behavior. The school is currently investigating the allegations and issues involved, as well as the options available, and I will report back when I am able. regards Bernard

How scary! I wonder what is going to happen! Thank god I'm too much of a chicken shit to ever break any rules. I'm a full nerd! (Never really got a detention throughout my High School life.) I guess its a good thing is this instance but because I don't take risks I feel as if I'm missing out in life sometimes. I mean, I have friends who take chances in life. When I say chances- I mean big chances. Practically a leap of faith. & the stories they tell me of their experience, are amazing. So sometimes I wonder, if I had bigger guts, how different would my life be. Maybe one day, I'll grow some balls, & take the unknown road. LOL which reminds me of that poem I did for English HSC, "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. =D

Well, speaking of exams- I have a hell to get through before any travelling is done. Wish me luck!

So, jealous much Cynthia?

(Even though there's nothing to be jealous of today. But I guess you're always jealous of my awesome-ness! LOL =D)

SMART Traveller

Just had a quick skim of the Smart Traveller's Website. I'm actually quite impressed. The website is clear and concise. Very easy to navigate! Here are a couple of facts I didn't know about:

Austria
  • Travellers are frequently targeted at Vienna’s two largest train stations, the plaza around St Stephan’s Cathedral and the nearby shopping areas.
  • It is illegal to preach in Austria unless you belong to a registered religious group and have a permit.
 Denmark
  • The currency is the Danish Krone. The euro is not accepted in Denmark.
 France
  • In France, failing to offer assistance to 'a person in danger' is illegal. This means that if you fail to stop upon witnessing a motor accident, fail to report such an accident to emergency services, or ignore appeals for help or urgent assistance, you may be charged. Penalties include suspended prison sentence and fines. The law does not apply in situations where to answer an appeal for help might endanger your life or the lives of others.
Germany
  • The use or display of any Nazi symbols, salutes, songs or material (eg. flags, memorabilia) is illegal.
 Italy
  • Under Italian legislation, internet cafe owners are required to sight and keep an electronic record of client photo identification.
  • It is illegal to photograph official buildings and military areas in Italy. You should check with local authorities before taking photos.
  • Local laws in Venice and Florence prohibit littering. In Florence, it is also an offence to sit, eat or drink on steps and in courtyards in the vicinity of major churches and public buildings. Fines may be levied by local authorities.
  • Heavy fines can be imposed if you are caught purchasing counterfeit products from street vendors.

I will continue to research more thoroughly, but after my exams.

Are you looking for a Husband?

Today I was asked one of the most wierd-est question. Nghi came up to me and asked "Are you looking for a husband, Jessica?"

... LOL!! I was honestly lost for words. Seriously. For a few moments I thought he was offering (& that would of been awkard). Thankfully he continued on with "Cause I know this guy & he's looking for a wife! He's Asian, 24 years old, great at poker... & the manager at KFC"

It was like he was trying to sell me a husband. LOL!! I was thoroughly amused! I could not stop laughing. One of the highlights of my day. Unlike my Actuarial Studies test, which was ridiculous! There wasn't enough exam papers to go around, so we had to wait in the humid CLB7 for half an hour for the lecturer to photo copy 50+. Also there's no visible clock- so the lecturer crossed off every 15 minutes on a overhead. But it was written with a red pen that has barely any ink remaining. As a result, I ran out of time. T^T

On a lighter note, my dad almost took me to Uni today. I felt like a little kid travelling to school with my dad! He was heading into the city to pay an installment of out Europe trip. Which reminds me, He wanted me to buy one of those masks, which are basically a big beanie with breathing holes. Yes, those masks. I quite literally bumped into Albert the other day and he told me those masks are illegal in some countries (Australia being one of them) because they cover most of your face. I really need to do some research! www.smartraveller.gov.au is my next stop. I'll post up anything I find interesting later! =D

Escaping the Mosquitoes

I didn't post an entry last night- cause I asleep as soon as I got home. Why? Oh because of the devil's maths actuarial studies. I couldn't sleep the night before because I kept thinking of premiums! But as soon as my actuarial studies lecture started- *bang! I fell straight to sleep. LOL! I wished the chairs were replaced with bean bags. It would have been heavenly. =)

When I can't go to sleep, I lie there on my bed, just waiting for the sand man to drift over me. But yesterday, I met this guy, who writes a novel when he can't go to sleep. Yes, not reads a novel but writes one! He is also composing a CD. I felt so small when I heard of all his accomplishments.

Also for the first time in my life, I got driven home from Uni yesterday. =D! My cousin offered me a lift if I stayed til 7 & I used the time to study. Well tried to anyways- the library has beanbags!!

Today, I travelled to Epping (which is alot nicer than what TV makes it out to be) to continue my group assignment and study for my Actuarial test on Thursday with Rebecca. Surprisingly, we actually did alot of work today! When I'm with her, we generally talk alot and get nothing done. But we were full nerds today! =D

Rebecca is also going away in the holidays! She's going over to Canada to be a ski instructor for 3 months! She showed me photos of the place she'll be teaching at, & it look so beautiful! It was just pure white! I was feeling a little jealous, but she reminded me of my Europe trip and the little green monster flew away! =D

Daddy told me I need to buy a parka jacket, since it'd be freezing when I go travel around Europe. I asked Rebecca where I can purchase one and she told me at Katmandu. I was like ... what's that? Apparantly it's a travel shop and there's one at Auburn. I shall go searching! =D

I'm so happy I don't really have a summer this year. I prefer winter! I hate sweating, mosquitoes (I can feel their thirst for blood already), humidity, and tanning!

Oh, & on the way home from Epping, I stopped off at Statfield (to change train lines) & bought myself the chicken and rice cake on a stick! It was so yummy!

Also, Daddy made some Creme Caramel! Double Yum! =D

Girlfriend or Europe?

I had an awesome day today. I went to church in the morning and then to a vintage fair at Leichhardt afterwards. oh & Google lied! Google map told me it would take 15 minutes to walk from Petersham station to Leichardt Townhall. LIESS! My Mum & I trekked half an hour in the heat! But it was worth it. The vintage fair was a unique experience. I bought a dress for $10 and a pair of antique ornaments for $5!

Afterwards we explored the shops in Leichhardt. There was this small shop full of masks from Venice. They were absolutely breathtaking. I've decided to buy a mask when I get to Venice. So excited. Then Mum & I took a bus into the city. On the bus Mum asked this sweet old lady if the bus went to the Opera House. She thought we were tourists. She asked me, "So where are you and your sister from?"

... what? My mum was delighted that someone thought she was young enough to look like my sister. But should I be offended to look old enough to be my Mother's sister?

I look at my aunts. &yes I am. =T

Subsequently, we took a train back to Wynyard, where more shopping began. I bought another blazer from Portmans. It was originally $199 and it was discounted down to $99. However it was labelled incorrectly as $59.99! So that was the price I got it at. I was very pleased! =D Then we went to Myers and oh do I love the "highlight 75% off already reduced prices sale"! I bought a Cooper St Swing Jacket (RRP $149) for $25!! The lady at the counter told me it was probably highlighted incorrectly but still gave it to me anyways! So happy! Mum was very jealous! =)& I found a new love for incorrectly price clothing.

Shopping was cut short because Dad (probably won at the pokies) decided to shout my family (which included my aunts, uncles & cousins) dinner at Punchbowl. Its been a while since my cousins and I had a meal together. During dinner, we discussed our overseas plans. One of the twins is going to Japan whilst the other is going to America. So I asked Kevin (their older brother) if he has any plans on going overseas? His reply?

"No, I have a girlfriend."

... I didn't know what to say to that. Apparently, he pays for everything, which means if he were to travel overseas- he would be paying for 2. So all night I was thinking, would I choose a relationship or travel?

What would you choose?

For now, it doesn't matter- I have a free trip to Europe.

Map of Europe

I failed every geography class I've ever taken. I thought Italy and Rome were 2 different countries (I'm not the only one "But there's Romans & Italians! There aren't Australians & Sydney-ians" -Kenneth! LOL!! So true!) So I decide to google (I love how google is a term we now commonly use for "search online") a map of Europe.

From the map I can finally see where all the countries are connected. Hmmm.. so in my 2 weeks stay in Germany, I'd be able to travel into France (to visit my sexy French lover) alot! LOL!

Ching Ching!

Tonight we celebrated Hieu's 19th birthday at Mounties! Happy Birthday Hieu! I love birthdays; I get to see all the Hurlstonians together in one place again. Its great for catching up! I had fun- especially winning $60.50 at the pokies! =D!

On the way home I asked my Dad how much I needed for the Europe trip. He replied "$3000" .

So $2939.50 left to go.

I really hope I pass the trial at the bar in Lidcombe on Friday! Wish me luck. I was talking to Marvin (who works in a bar) and he advised me not to. Apparently its not as fun as it seems and its really dangerous (I knew this bit). But the pay is really good?

I wonder when the Commonwealth Equity Scholarship money is coming in too. I hope it's soon. I searched it up and all I could find was "Payments will be indexed each year and paid within 6 weeks of the 31 March/August Census dates". ... So does that mean 6 weeks after the census date? o_O? I'm so lost.

Why can't money grow on trees?

Oh & also the Great Wall of China tour is on the go go too! =D I'm spending 4 days in China after my Europe trip before coming home. Can't wait! I'm going to see if daddy will buy me a sexy SLR Camera to take sexy pictures of the trip!

Show me the money!

My family always have dinner at the table together. I thought this was the norm until couple of my friends told me they never eat with their family. However, recently I haven't had a family meal and I was feeling quite lonely. Food tastes best when you're sharing it with someone else. =) Well tonight I had a dinner with my daddy and brother whilst watching the television (as usual). Suddenly, out of the blue, my dad asked how much money am I going to take to Europe?

... How much am I going to take to Europe?

Today's exchange rate is AUD /EUR 59.03. So basically I'm cutting my money in half. T^T Also, I'm going to alot of places, do I only exchange my Dollar into Euro? Do I need another currency? I wonder if the Euro is pretty or not. Hmm.... I need to do alot of research. But, first things first, I need to get money to exchange.

So what am I going to do?
Win the lottery. =D

Deposit paid. Europe trip on the go go.

My Daddy and I are traveling around Europe at the end of the year. Yes, just me and my Daddy. I know, some may find that strange (my brother won't leave behind his girlfriend computer, & my Mum is stuck with him), but its the cheapest way to travel. Family discount. This means, air fares, taxes, food and accommodation is all paid for. & all my money can go to the very important SHOPPING expenses. Plus I love my daddy. =) so I can't wait.

The travel agency Apollo Travel Centre Pty. Ltd. offers a tour "Europe Prefect Ten, 19 days 15 nights tour". From the title, I believe it when they say the tour will include a Chinese and basic English speaking tour guide. LOL. & apparently the sun stays up longer over there- 19 days and 15 nights? ><; I'm just happy they aren't flying the plane. The tour also includes: Airfare, accommodation, meals and a shuttle bus. Total cost: $3580/per person. (excluding airport taxes)

London, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy and France.
Prepare yourselves.

So jealous much, Cynthia?

P.S. After the 19 day tour, I'm staying an additional 2 weeks in Germany (Asians can find family anywhere in the world). LOL. After that I might stop at the Great Wall of China on the way back. =D
